MacKillop College is committed to providing a safe, inclusive and supportive environment where every child and young person is respected, valued and empowered.
We have zero tolerance for child abuse and are dedicated to promoting and protecting the safety, wellbeing and dignity of all children and young people.
Child safety is a shared responsibility. Every member of our College community, including staff, students, volunteers, contractors, families and visitors, plays an important role in creating and maintaining a culture where children and young people feel safe, heard and supported.
At MacKillop College, we are committed to:
promoting the safety, wellbeing and inclusion of all children and young people
creating environments where children are respected, listened to and empowered to participate
protecting children and young people from all forms of abuse, harm, neglect and exploitation
fostering a culture of care, respect and accountability throughout our College community
responding promptly and effectively to concerns about child safety and wellbeing.
We recognise and celebrate the diversity of our community and are committed to providing culturally safe and inclusive environments for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, children with disability, and children of all identities and backgrounds.
MacKillop College has implemented a comprehensive Child Safe Program that supports our commitment to child safety and wellbeing. This includes policies, procedures and practices that guide the prevention, identification and reporting of child safety concerns.
Key documents include our:
Child Safety and Wellbeing Policy
Child Safety Code of Conduct
Child Safety Reporting Procedures
These resources are available to staff, students, families, contractors, suppliers and members of the wider community.
We encourage all members of our College community to familiarise themselves with our Child Safety and Wellbeing information and to actively support our commitment to keeping children safe.
