MacKillop College is proud to congratulate Isabella Guzzardi, a former student and current Learning Support Officer at the College, on being named Wyndham City’s Young Person of the Month for September 2026.
Wyndham City announced Isabella as its September One Wyndham recipient, recognising her outstanding contribution to the local community through her commitment to supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people through education, cultural engagement and mentoring.
A proud Kamilaroi woman, Isabella has built strong relationships with students and has become an important role model for young people. Through her work, she actively supports students’ educational, cultural and personal development, helping them strengthen their cultural identity, connect with community and develop a sense of belonging within the school environment.
The Wyndham City citation highlighted Isabella’s role in facilitating cultural activities and initiatives that create meaningful opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. Her work has contributed to increased participation, cultural pride and engagement among the students she supports.
Among her many contributions, Isabella has helped organise cultural experiences and opportunities for students, including excursions to the Wathaurong Co-Operative and the design of an Indigenous football jumper. She is recognised as a leader who encourages young people to be proud of who they are while helping others better understand and appreciate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives and experiences.
Wyndham City Mayor Cr Mia Shaw described Isabella as “a wonderful role model, leader and support”, acknowledging the positive impact she is having on young people within the Wyndham community.
As a College, we are especially proud to see one of our former students making such a significant contribution to the community and inspiring the next generation of young people. Isabella’s recognition reflects her dedication, compassion and leadership, and the positive influence she continues to have on students and families at MacKillop College.
We extend our warmest congratulations to Isabella on this outstanding achievement and thank her for the difference she makes in the lives of so many young people every day.
