Library Lovers’ Day

Students took a chance by having a blind date with a book on Library Lovers’ Day, a library event which is becoming an annual tradition for many of our students.

Library Lovers’ Day is a fun way for students to have their comfort zone extended, by not being able to “judge a book by its cover”. Over 90 students chose titles wrapped in red and become acquainted with a new piece of literature without being able to first see the cover image or any details.

As secondary students need to decode, understand and analyse a range of texts in their studies, this is a great opportunity for students to expand their reading repertoire by taking the challenge of ‘having a go’ at something unknown.
