MacKillop Rocks – Battle of the Bands 2025

The Moreno Performing Arts Centre came alive last night as MacKillop College hosted its much‑anticipated MacKillop Rocks – Battle of the Bands. The evening celebrated the incredible musical talent of our students, with six outstanding bands taking to the stage: Minority, The Beatroots, The Celestials, The Westsiders, Unsanctioned and Maphead.

Guiding the audience through the night’s entertainment was our charismatic master of ceremonies, Olivia Perceval (Year 12), whose warm presence and enthusiasm kept the crowd engaged from the first note to the last.

The judging panel — Ms Allan, Mr Gitson, Mr Trainor, Mrs Mannello, Ms Yousif and Mr Crump — were treated to an exceptional standard of performances, making their final choice far from easy. After much deliberation, The Westsiders were crowned winners for 2025, earning the admiration and applause of all in attendance.

Events like MacKillop Rocks highlight not just the skill of our student musicians, but also their dedication, teamwork and creativity. Congratulations to all performers for sharing their gifts and inspiring the community with their passion for music.
