Message from the Principal – in Conclusion of Term 4 2022

Dear Parents/Carers, Students and Staff,

As Term 4 draws to a close, I would like to express my gratitude for what has been a very successful term and year. After the work and achievements of 2022, each student deserves the holiday ahead to rest, recuperate and celebrate with loved ones.

Thinking back on the past few weeks, including Speech Night, performance evenings, exams, Open Day, the Year 12 Valedictory Dinner, etc., I am proud to see how calmly the academic year has drawn to a close. I realise so many of our students and staff are already in preparation for next year, and commend them for their efforts. I am also looking forward to spending some time with family and friends, and hope the same for each and every one of you.

I encourage you all to reflect on the significance of Advent as we lead into the Christmas season. As we consider the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ and the salvation this birth symbolises, help us remember that we are called to be Christ’s living action in the world.

As was said by our namesake, St Mary of the Cross MacKillop, I hope we can all ‘be calm and full of hope’ (Mary MacKillop 1871) heading into the New Year and all that awaits us there.

God bless.

Kind regards,
Rory Kennedy
Principal
