End of Semester One & Term Two Arrangements
We would like to clarify the upcoming key dates and arrangements for the remainder of Semester One and Term Two.
Key Dates:
- End of Semester One:Â Friday, 20 June
- Start of Semester Two:Â Monday, 23 June
- End of Term Two:Â Thursday, 3 July
- Staff Professional Learning Day:Â Friday, 4 July (No classes for students)
Why does Semester Two start before the end of Term Two?
It is common practice in many schools, including MacKillop College, for Semester Two to commence before the end of Term Two. This approach provides students with a valuable head start on the second half of the academic year and allows for a smooth transition between semesters.

Year 9
Special Transition Afternoon – Friday 20th June
All Year 9 Main Campus students will participate in a special transition afternoon at the St Mary’s campus. This event is designed to help students become familiar with their new environment and ease the transition process.
Conversely, students from the St Mary’s campus will be involved in a transition to the Main Campus, supporting them with organisation and ensuring a smooth start to their second semester studies.
The event will take place on Friday, 20th June, beginning at 12:00pm. During this time, students will engage in a variety of activities and tours to explore the St Mary’s campus, meet staff, and connect with fellow students.
After a fully catered BBQ lunch—including sausages, veggie burgers, and gluten-free bread—students currently studying at the St Mary’s campus will travel to the Main Campus. There, they will meet their Homeroom teachers, be allocated a homeroom and locker, and prepare for the start of the new semester on Monday, 23rd June.
The day will be known as: Muyong buluk ngarrgee (Boonawrong word for song, dance, and celebration).
Students are required to wear the full school college uniform and bring a snack, laptop, water bottle, pencil case, and paper.

Year 10
Morrisby Profile
As part of our Year 10 students’ preparation to select their Senior Pathway over the coming weeks, all Year 10s undertook the testing to create a Morrisby Profile earlier this term. This Profile will support their future career planning. To assist you in being able to support this process the following link will take you to a video where our careers Counsellor, Mr. Fraser Stehn, will take you through the Morrisby Profile.
