Update: Bus Travel Disruptions Due to Industrial Action – 16 & 17 June 2025

June 11, 2025

MacKillop College wishes to inform our school community of an important update regarding upcoming changes to student bus travel arrangements.

Change of Industrial Action Dates

Recently, we advised families of potential disruptions to some bus services due to planned industrial action by CDC Victoria. We have now received updated information from CDC Victoria regarding the schedule for this industrial action.

The Transport Workers Union (TWU) has changed the dates of the protected industrial action to Monday, 16 June and Tuesday, 17 June 2025 (instead of Thursday, 12 June 2025 as previously advised).

What This Means for MacKillop College Families

Key Points:

  • Charter Bus Services Only:
The industrial action only affects charter bus bookings and does not impact regular school buses or public transport route buses.

  • Harpley Charter Bus Route:
The only service impacted for MacKillop College families is the Harpley charter bus route.

    • Service Suspension:
The Harpley charter bus will not operate on Monday, 16 June and Tuesday, 17 June 2025.

    • Normal Service Resumes:
The Harpley charter bus will resume normal operations from Wednesday, 18 June 2025.

  • All Other Buses:
All other school and public transport buses will operate as usual on these dates.

What to Do

If your child normally uses the Harpley charter bus, please make alternative transport arrangements for Monday, 16 June and Tuesday, 17 June 2025.
